Hippo RC Flail Mower

The Hippo is a competent and rapid heavy duty all terrain vegetation clearing mower using remote control to keep the operator away from danger and discomfort. 

One of the most powerful mowers in our range the Hippo comes with the following-
A choice of 3 Loncin commercial duty petrol motors or 3 fuel sipping Diesels.
Full width 800 or 1000mm cut.
Remote engine start/stop. 
Remote controlled hydraulic cutting height adjustment from 10 to 165mm. ie, raze or reshape at ground level or leave up to a handspan of stubble. Adjust on the run. Great fun with cowpats and unsuspecting observers.

Flail design means instead of just 2 blades doing all the work there are 48. The flail shaft spins backwards so the blades come from the back and scrape off anything they touch. Then, anything that still wants to argue gets drawn in over the top of the blades and into the machine where there is no way to avoid hitting the blades and getting chopped.

Powerful hybrid brushless electric variable speed drive. Brushless means no brushes need replacing. Less maintenance.

Because we don't need to be nice to an operator these machines have the power to be flicked back and forth or spun at quite high G forces.

I can't say that mowing just became fun because that is unprofessional and non-compliant but if you watch the youtube videos I keep giggling and I can assure you, I am a grown man of 57 footy seasons- I do not "Giggle". 

Motor driven generator provides unlimited driving power when mowing, batteries take over when the motor is stopped. The machine can then be moved without noise or the blades spinning if you want.

Climbs up to 35-degree inclines with ease carving a path thru previously impenetrable undergrowth as it goes. Do you have areas on your land that you have never seen? As your skill improves you can climb steeper.

The Hippo won't fit in the back of your SUV like a Rhino does, sorry.

What is the difference between the 500mm Rhino and the 800mm Hippo?

If you look at the front of the Hippo the cutting blades are full width, the Rhino is only cutting between the tracks. This makes punching into extremely dense vegetation easier for the Hippo because it cuts its own full width track and then walks along the freshly made track, the Rhino punches in but the tracks need to flatten anything in front of them for the machine to proceed.

Wheelbase. The Hippo is long, twice as long as The Rhino. This does affect the sportiness. The Rhino has a square wheelbase, it is as wide as it is long and can spin in a 1m circle, the Hippo spins in a 3 m circle but it eats twice as much.

The other difference is weight. The Hippo is nearly 600 Kg when the Rhino tops out at under 200 Kg. Which one do you want to get unstuck? It takes a lot to get either machine stuck but you will keep trying until you do. Ask me how I know. They usually don't need to be moved far to get moving again anyway.
